Can Tho

Situated on the Hau river, Can Tho is the largest city in the Mekong delta. It is a pleasant city to explore and has numerous canals which host floating markets.

Xeo Quyt Forest

Xeo Quyt Forest is a wonderful swampy area that you can explore by canoe or along walking trails. It is situated close to My Hiep village. The canal tour takes you through waterways under a thick covering of trees. The walking route allows you to see a number of Viet Cong bunkers.

Tra Su Bird Sanctuary

The Tra Su Bird Sanctuary is a large area of forested wetland. There are huge numbers of wading birds in the sanctuary and boat trips through the narrow channels give an excellent opportunity of spotting the fauna.

Sam Mountain

Close to the Cambodian border, Sam Mountain is the highest mountain in the Mekong delta. It is a place of pilgrimage for Vietnamese. The mountain has many pagodas and temples, some of which are build into caves in the mountain. The views from the top are spectacular and you can see across the border into Cambodia.

Phu Quoc Island

South of Kampot in Cambodia, lies Phu Quoc Island. Over half the island is comprised of national park where wildlife can be viewed from the numerous hiking trails. The remainder of the island consists of palm fringed beaches, where you can relax in the sun or kayak along the coast which also has fantastic diving and snorkelling opportunities.
