Phuentsholing is a border town in southern Bhutan opposite the Indian town of Jaigon. It is possible to enter or exit Bhutan from here. The town is a busy financial and industrial hub and there are a number of bars and restaurants and hotels. On the banks of the river there is a crocodile breeding centre that breeds marsh mugger and gharial crocodiles. They are fed every other day at noon.
Sarpang is an ethnically diverse region in southern Bhutan. Much of the area falls under the Royal Manas National Park.
Gelephu borders the Indian state of Assam. It has a domestic airport. Gelephu is a gateway to the Royal Manas National Park, the most biologically diverse region in Bhutan. There are many rare plant and animal species in the park such as the greater one horned rhinoceros, golden langurs, Asian elephant and Royal Bengal Tiger. There are also hot springs that are said to have healing properties.

Samdrup Jongkhar is another busy border town and has good access to Guwahati in India (approximately 3 hour taxi ride).
